Cagliari are not interested in a potential loan swap with Inter involving Leonardo Pavoletti and Radja Nainggolan, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are keen to send the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder away this January, with coach Antonio Conte not interested in using the player. He has hardly featured in the first half of this season.

Considering that Inter need a new backup forward in next month’s transfer window, a possible loan exchange was hypothesized, with 32-year-old Italian forward Pavoletti moving the other way.

Cagliari are not interested in this idea, the report continues, and so if they want Nainggolan they’ll have to pay his wages for the rest of the season whilst he’s on loan or sign him outright.

Last season, Nainggolan made 29 appearances for the Rossoblu whilst on loan, scoring six goals and providing seven assists in his 2279 minutes on the pitch.
