Inter have offered Atalanta Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino in exchange for outgoing Argentine forward Papu Gomez, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.

The report details how coach Antonio Conte no longer has a need of the 29-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, and he is set to depart next month in order to make space for new reinforcements.

The Nerazzurri have offered Atalanta Vecino in exchange for 32-year-old Argentine forward Papu Gomez, the report continues.

The talismanic figure, who has also been linked with a move to AC Milan, is set to leave Bergamo after six and a half years after suffering a complete relationship breakdown with coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

The 32-year-old does not want to leave Italy as his family are happily settled in the Lombardy city, and so either Milanese club are hopeful of securing his signature.

Gomez has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1122 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided four assists.
