Inter are thinking about signing several players to contract renewals with salary increases spread out over the duration of the contract according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

By doing this, Inter will be able to keep players at the club for longer but will also not have their budget for this season impacted as rather than have the salaries raised this season, the salary increases will be spread over the coming years when fans will be back in the stands and Inter will have box office revenues again.

This is in part due to the decision of the Chinese government to stop linking company names like Suning to football clubs, forcing Suning to cut costs additionally at Inter.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to state that the most urgent contract situations relate to Alessandro Bastoni, who currently earns just €800,000 a year, and Lautaro Martinez.

The agents of Stefan de Vrij, Roberto Gagliardini, Nicolo Barella, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Aleksandar Kolarov, Andrea Ranocchia and Ashley Young are all meanwhile in frequent contact with Inter management.
