Belgium Manager Roberto Martinez: “Inter’s Romelu Lukaku Is In The Best Form Of His Career”

Belgian national team manager Roberto Martinez has shared his belief that Inter and Belgian national team striker Romelu Lukaku is in the best form of his career at this moment.

Since joining Inter in the Summer of 2019 in a club record transfer deal from Premier League side Manchester United, Lukaku has been absolutely prolific both at club and international level with few players able to score more than he has in that time.

“He shows a maturity that is not often seen in forwards. Usually a scorer is someone who focuses mainly on getting the ball into the net but for Romelu Lukaku, the important thing is to win and to be there to help the team and that’s what he does every week,” Martinez began an interview with Belgian broadcaster VTM, which was broadcast earlier on today.

The former Swansea City and Everton manager, who has been in charge of Belgium since 2016, then went on to add: “His desire is to play well every game. He is in the best form of his career, this is beyond doubt.”

Since his arrival at Inter, Lukaku, who is the all time record goal scorer for Belgium, has scored 49 goals in 69 games across all competitions to date. This season he has managed to score an impressive total of 15 goals in 18 outings for the Nerazzurri club.
