Former Inter player Nicolo Zaniolo has thanked Inter for their decision to send him to Roma back in the Summer of 2018.

Zaniolo joined Inter from Virtus Entella in 2017 and starred for the Primavera in the 2017/18 season. Despite the great promise he showed, Inter opted to include him in the deal that they signed Radja Nainggolan from Roma in in the Summer of 2018.

Since his move to the Italian capital city club, Zaniolo has exploded and cemented himself as one of the best young Italian talents out there.

“I think Inter always need players who are ready and already prepared and maybe at that moment I wasn’t,” Zaniolo explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The youngster, who is currently sidelined by injury for the foreseeable future, then went on to add: “It was their choice, but I thank them for transferring me to Roma.

“They let me arrive in a splendid city like this and in a solid club. Playing here is great, for the fans, for the city. I’m delighted to be at the Giallorossi.”

The 21-year-old has not been able to play any matches whatsoever for Roma this season due to him rupturing his cruciate ligament. He is expected to make a return before the end of the season.
