Inter have reached an agreement in principle over a contract with Atalanta’s Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The Argentine appears set to leave Atalanta and he does not want to move too far away from the city of Bergamo where he has played his football for the last few years.

Inter, as per this report, have agreed a two and a half year contract with the Argentine attacker which comes with a salary which is more or less the same as the €2.5 million a year he earns at Atalanta.

Whilst Inter have an agreement in principle over a contract, there is however no agreement between the two clubs. Atalanta are seeking a fee between €8-12 million for their club captain but Inter are not wanting to pay as much as that for the 32-year-old, who has five goals and four assists in 16 appearances this term.
