Graziano Battistini, the agent of reported Inter transfer target Alessio Cragno, has stated his belief that his client is one of the two strongest goalkeepers around at this present moment.

“Cagliari is constantly growing and is at an important club. They want to create something important that will come sooner or later. Alessio is one of the two strongest goalkeepers around,” Battistini explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, earlier on today.

Battistini was then asked about whether Napoli have an interest in signing his client: “I don’t know if they want to do something for Cragno in the future but first they have to clarify who is the starter between Meret and Ospina. In the past I don’t remember there having been any approaches from them.”

In conclusion, Battistini reiterated his beliefs about the quality his client, who is part of the Italian national team set-up, possesses.

“Cragno is now a top goalkeeper, he is proving it with his performances on the pitch and he still has ample room for improvement. He is a goalkeeper ready to withstand important pressure.”

Cragno has been strongly linked with Inter as the Nerazzurri club hunt for a long term successor to current number one shot-stopper Samir Handanovic, who is getting on a bit now and out of contract at the end of this season.

This season the 26-year-old, who is under contract with Cagliari until 2024, has made 14 appearances across all competition to date, in which he has kept two clean sheets.
