Radja Nainggolan will be able to take to the field for Cagliari starting from January 6 according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

As per reports from various sources yesterday, Nainggolan is set to return to Cagliari on a dry loan deal for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

The former Belgian national team central midfielder spent last season on loan at the Sardinia based club and was upset about their inability to sign him outright at the end of the loan.

He returned to Inter but never felt part of the club’s project having been cast aside by manager Antonio Conte who continually preferred other players in the midfield department to Nainggolan, who arrived at Inter back in 2018 from Roma.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Nainggolan spent the holiday period in Cagliari with friends, including Andrea Cossu, who is part of Cagliari’s staff. Marko Rog’s long term injury then promoted Cagliari president Tommaso Giuilini to move for Nainggolan.
