Inter central midfielder Radja Nainggolan has admitted that he is happy to be returning to Cagliari and admits he did not have a chance at Inter.
The Belgian is set to complete a dry loan switch to Cagliari for the remainder of the 2020/21 season and he is undergoing his medical today, after which, all going well, the move will be made official.
“Happy to be back? Sure, but it’s still not official. Do I have any regrets from my time with Inter? I made myself available but I didn’t get a chance. Do I hope to stay? You know the formula, right?” he explained to the gathered journalists, including one from TuttoMercatoWeb, upon his arrival in Rome for his Cagliari medical.
Nainggolan spent the duration of last season out on loan at Cagliari and looked set to make the move permanent but the two clubs were ultimately unable to agree terms.
The 32-year-old, who joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 from fellow Serie A side Roma, barely featured for Inter this season with him being limited to five substitute appearances. In just 45 minutes on the field, he failed to make any goal contributions whatsoever.
