Juventus and Inter are the two favourites to win the Serie A title this season, at least according to AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli.

Pioli’s AC Milan are currently leading the way at the top of the Serie A table and have been at the peak for several weeks but despite this, Pioli does not see his side, who are the only unbeaten side this season, as the favourites to win the Scudetto.

“A team that has won 9 consecutive league titles and that has all those champions on the field is necessarily the favourite,” Pioli, who previously had a spell in charge of Inter, explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper La Stampa, which appeared in today’s print edition.

He went on to explain: “Just like Inter, who came within one point of Juventus last year, spent a lot of money and will not have continental commitments.”

Pioli, who has been at the helm of the Rossoneri for little over a year now, then went on to highlight some other teams that he thinks should not be counted out.

“I see Napoli and Roma doing well, not to mention Atalanta who managed to win away to Liverpool.”

Pioli managed Inter between November 2016 and May 2017. He won 14 of his 27 matches in charge of the club.
