Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini discussed the situation surrounding Inter linked Papu Gomez when speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference earlier today. His words were collected by Italian media outlet PassioneInter.com.

The Italian coach was asked what he thought about the ‘bulky’ Papu Gomez situation.

“I don’t have any answers to that. We’re preparing for a game tomorrow, then one in three days and one in a week. These are our objectives.”

The 32-year-old Gomez, who has been with the Bergamo based club for the last six and a half years, again trained individually today, and will certainly not appear against Sassuolo tomorrow.

Inter are keen to secure the signature of the Argentinian forward, but first must find a buyer for Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who has been deemed surplus to requirements and is publicly on the transfer list.

Atalanta will not let Gomez leave on a free transfer, and would like around €10 million for his signature. The Bergamaschi are waiting for offers from abroad first, not wanting to strengthen an Italian rival, with other clubs apart from Inter also interested including Lazio and Fiorentina.
