Inter and AC Milan linked defender Nikola Milenkovic does not want to pen a contract extension with Fiorentina and will likely depart in the summer transfer window, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 23-year-old Serbian defender, who is contracted to the Viola until 2022, does not want to stay in Florence beyond this season, and so will be sold by Rocco Commisso’s side this summer.

Inter have been following the player for some time now, believing that he could be the perfect replacement for Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar, should he depart in the summer.

Milenkovic is worth around €30-35 million, a high price but his strong performances have seemingly justified it.

The 23-year-old Serbian has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1470 minutes.

In that time, he has scored two goals, provided one assist and helped the side keep four clean sheets.
