Inter may be forced to sell an important player, like Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez, in order to help fix the financial situation, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 23-year-old Argentine forward, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023, has performed well this season alongside partner Romelu Lukaku.

The player was heavily linked with a high profile move to Barcelona last year, but the Blaugrana could not afford to pay his €111 million release clause, leaving him in Milan.

Whilst Inter were happy to keep hold of their star forward, the club may now be forced to sell the 23-year-old Lautaro at the end of the season, due to financial issues.

The Suning group are currently looking for new financiers and minority partners, working to refinance two bonds worth €375 million, and the Covid-19 pandemic has caused their balance sheets to suffer further.

Whilst it does seem unlikely that the Chinese company will sell Inter, it is important for Suning to try and fix the economic situation.
