Inter striker Lautaro Martinez discussed the Nerazzurri’s impressive 6-2 win over Crotone today in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.

“We faced a very well-trained team, we worked hard in the non-possession phase as they were dribbling well. We’re very happy with this win.”

The 23-year-old Argentine forward then commented on his hattrick against the newly promoted side.

“Very nice. I missed scoring, as I said in Verona, but it’s also important to work for the team. I dedicate these goals to my family, to Augustina and to my little one who is coming.

“If Inter win I’m happy, then if the goal comes it’s better.”

Finally, Lautaro spoke about how the Nerazzurri are first in the league table, at least until rivals AC Milan play Benevento this evening.

“We’re happy, our target is to win the Scudetto. We’re working to stay there, now let’s hope we’ll still be first until next week.”

The 23-year-old Lautaro, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023, has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1412 minutes.

In that time, he has scored 10 goals and provided five assists, maintaining his strong partnership with Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku, who also netted against the Calabrian side.

Inter’s win means that they now have 36 points after 14 games, top of the league table. A win for AC Milan against 10th place Benevento today would see them return to the top, only a point ahead of Antonio Conte’s side.
