Inter’s top choice to replace aging captain Samir Handanovic is Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sportitalia earlier today.

The report details how the 36-year-old Slovenian shot stopper, who has been with the Nerazzurri since 2012, is still the backbone of the current Inter squad under coach Antonio Conte, but his age means that the club are now forced to look for a long-term successor.

The Milanese club’s number one option to replace Handanovic currently is 26-year-old Argentinian shot stopper Juan Musso, who is contracted to Udinese until 2023.

Contacts with his entourage are constant, showing how interested the club are in acquiring the goalkeeper. A move could be made in the summer transfer window, when more funds could be available to secure his signature.

Musso has made 12 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1110 minutes. In that time, he has conceded 13 goals and kept three clean sheets.
