Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla discussed this month’s transfer window and Inter’s plans in an editorial in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“For everyone there is a sign in big letters, blessed are those who have ideas that don’t require large expenditure, there isn’t much money at the moment.

“The big teams will mark themselves and it is not certain that they will do much, the medium-sized teams will be looking for a breakthrough to avoid drowning in the dangerous area of the table, the small teams will want restorative treatment with at least two or three significant additions.”

He then touched on the Nerazzurri’s plans for this month’s transfer window.

“Inter are dealing with Eriksen, to the suggestion of Papu Gomez, to budgetary needs, to an extra striker if Pinamonti leaves. Selling Eriksen without exchanges would be better, maybe in the Premier League.”

The 28-year-old Christian Eriksen, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2024, has made 12 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 373 minutes.

The former Tottenham man is destined to leave Inter this month, being publicly placed on the transfer list and clearly not fitting the ideas of coach Antonio Conte.

It was hypothesized that Eriksen could end up in Paris, joining former coach Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain, but the Argentine coach hasn’t asked after the Danish midfielder and now a move seems unlikely.

The Milanese club will not be making any large investments this month, and so any incoming signings must be funded from the sales of outgoing players.
