Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen is unlikely to join Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.
The report details how the Nerazzurri consider their squad to be competitive and want to lower the wage bill, with the 28-year-old Dane being one of the highest earners in the squad, at around €7.5 million per season, despite hardly playing a role in coach Antonio Conte’s system.
The Milanese club were hoping to send Eriksen to Paris in exchange for Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes, but Pochettino has not asked sporting director Leonardo to sign Eriksen, with the Argentine coach believing that the former Tottenham midfielder was not a player for big games.
If Inter manage to offload Eriksen and another player, like Andrea Pinamonti, then they could look to sign a new left wing back and backup striker, although it has been made clear that no large investments will be made this month.
