Inter cannot sign midfielders or forwards in January until they offload Christian Eriksen and Andrea Pinamonti, according to Italian media reports.

As per today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are unlikely to invest during the transfer window despite Romelu Lukaku’s injury scare yesterday sharpening concerns that they are short of options up front.

Eriksen and Pinamonti have found themselves heavily linked with moves away from Inter but it remains to be seen whether or not either of them will find a new club.

Inter have been linked with moves for Atalanta captain Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez and Liverpool striker Divock Origi for the past few weeks and the report from the Rome-based news outlet goes on to explain that they are both waiting for Inter.

Neither Eriksen nor Pinamonti featured in Sunday’s 6-2 win over Crotone, which saw Antonio Conte’s side record an eighth straight win in Serie A.

Eriksen has made just five starts in all competitions this season while Pinamonti has been restricted to three substitute appearances.
