Antonio Conte To Make Three Changes For Inter’s Serie A Clash With Sampdoria, Italian Media Claim

Antonio Conte is expected to make three changes to Inter’s starting XI for tomorrow’s match at Sampdoria, according to reports in Italy.

Tuesday’s print edition of Tuttosport said Ivan Perisic was in pole position to replace Romelu Lukaku up front, after the Belgian international sustained a thigh injury during Sunday’s 6-2 win over Crotone.

Tests excluded a muscle tear for Lukaku this morning but Conte will leave him on the bench as a precaution ahead of Sunday’s match against Roma.

Elsewhere, Matteo Darmian will replace Ashley Young at left wing-back for the game against Claudio Ranieri’s side, while Roberto Gagliardini is likely to come in for Arturo Vidal in central midfield.

Alexis Sanchez is also available to start up front against Sampdoria but it was said he is unlikely to be picked, after the Chilean was an unused substitute against Crotone at San Siro.

Reports elsewhere on Tuesday evening, however, have suggested Sanchez is now favourite to start ahead of Perisic.

Lautaro Martinez is guaranteed to play after bagging a hat-trick in the Nerazzurri’s first match of 2021.
