Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is ready for arguably the most important year of his life so far, as detailed by a report in Italy today.

The 23-year-old started 2021 in the best possible manner with a hat-trick against Crotone on Sunday, helping the Nerazzurri to a 6-2 win at San Siro, and will lead the line again in the match at Sampdoria tomorrow due to Romelu Lukaku’s likely absence through injury.

Tuesday’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport highlights how Lautaro’s status has grown dramatically since joining Inter in 2018, from a talented player to a complete striker who is admired by some of Europe’s greatest clubs.

He is hoping to achieve three separate goals before the end of this year, two of which are professional and one of which is far more personal.

In the summer, Lautaro hopes to win the Serie A title with Inter and then he will try to help the Argentine national team secure the Copa America, which will be taking place on home soil.

But next month he will also become a father for the first time, with his partner Agustina expecting a baby girl.

Lautaro has scored 10 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side this season.
