Romelu Lukaku could be fit to play for Inter against Sampdoria tomorrow after tests confirmed his thigh injury was not serious, according to a leading Italian broadcaster.
As per a report from Sky Sport Italia this morning, the Belgian international will not be risked in the starting XI but should be available for a place on Antonio Conte’s substitutes bench.
Lukaku took part in a light training session today and a final decision will be made in the next few hours on whether or not he will travel to Genoa for tomorrow’s match at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
The report goes on to explain that Inter coach Conte does not want to take risks as he wants to have Lukaku available for Roma on Sunday, as well as the match against Juventus next weekend.
Ivan Perisic could start alongside Lautaro Martinez in the attack with the report explaining that he currently has a slight advantage over Alexis Sanchez to do so.
Roberto Gagliardini may meanwhile come in from the start in place of Arturo Vidal.
