Reported Inter target Georginio Wijnaldum has not rejected a new contract offer from Liverpool, according to a report from a British broadcaster.

As per Sky Sports, Wijnaldum has been offered a new deal by the Premier League champions and he has not accepted it, but reports of him declining the contract offer – as suggested in Spain today – are wide of the mark.

The Dutchman’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and he has been linked with potential moves to both Inter and Barcelona in the media as of late.

The report from Sky Sports goes on to add that Barcelona have yet to submit an offer either to the player, who wants to stay at Anfield, or Liverpool.

Liverpool’s coach Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that he wishes to keep former Newcastle United player Wijnaldum, who wants his salary to be closer to the highest earners at the Merseyside based club.

Wijnaldum has made 210 appearances for the Reds since joining in 2016, helping Liverpool to their first Premier League title in 30 years last season.
