Benevento sporting director Pasquale Foggia has confirmed the club are interested in signing Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti.

The 21-year-old is expected to leave the club during the January transfer window after struggling for game time during the first half of the season, making just three cameo appearances under Antonio Conte.

Bologna, Eintracht Frankfurt and Crotone are among the other reported suitors for the Italy under-21 international.

Speaking to FcInter1908.it, Foggia confirmed: “I can confirm Pinamonti is a player we like, although talks are not at an advanced stage yet.

“We don’t have any meetings with Inter planned for the moment.”

Pinamonti returned to Inter last summer after experiences with Frosinone and Genoa, but Conte does not believe he is ready to play for the Nerazzurri yet.

Eintracht Frankfurt have emerged as arguably the most credible alternative to Benevento, with the Bundesliga side’s coach Adi Hutter describing Pinamonti today as ‘an interesting player’.

Inter wish to sign a more experienced fourth-choice striker for the second half of the season but they cannot acquire new players until they have sold first.
