Inter boss Antonio Conte believes re-signing former striker Eder is one of the Nerazzurri’s best options in January, according to a report in the Spanish media.
The Nerazzurri’s need for an extra striker was further highlighted on Wednesday as they lost 2-1 at Sampdoria with Romelu Lukaku left out of the starting XI due to a thigh injury.
As per TodoFichajes.com, Conte is keen on a move for 34-year-old Eder, who currently play for Inter’s sister club Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese Super League.
The Italian-Brazilian’s deal with Jiangsu is set to expire at the end of this season but contact with the player’s entourage has already taken place, in a bid to ensure Eder can be released from his contract early.
The report goes on to add that provided nothing becomes complicated over the next few days, the former Sampdoria player will return to Inter with a view to getting minutes, four years on from his departure from the club.
During his previous stint in black and blue, the 34-year-old forward made 86 appearances, in which he scored 14 goals and tallied eight assists.
