Andrea Pinamonti is Benevento’s primary transfer target to reinforce their attack in January, according to a leading Italian transfer expert.
Alfredo Pedulla reported tonight that the newly-promoted club are in talks with Inter over a loan deal with an option to buy for their young striker.
Benevento want a centre-forward with Pinamonti’s skills set, although they are also considering a move for a winger such as Lecce’s Filippo Falco.
The report confirmed that the clubs were unlikely to agree a deal anytime soon.
Pinamonti has interest from several other clubs in Serie A, most notably Bologna, but all of them have ground to make up on Benevento.
The Italy under-21 international also has suitors abroad but is said to prefer the idea of staying in Italy.
Antonio Conte wants to offload Pinamonti so he can bring in a more experienced striker to act as back-up for Romelu Lukaku, whose absence Inter suffered from on Wednesday when they lost at Sampdoria.
