Inter have rather alarmingly fallen 2-0 down in six matches already this season, an Italian media report highlighted today.

The Nerazzurri most recently found themselves go behind yesterday afternoon away to Sampdoria with them trailing by two goals by the half-time interval at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Antonio Conte’s side did manage to pull one back in the second half but were unable to get anything out of the game whatsoever, despite having no shortage of chances.

Inter have conceded 21 goals in 16 league games so far this season, compared to just 14 last season, an increase of 50%.

The 2-1 loss to the Claudio Ranieri coached Blucerchiati not only spelled the end of Inter’s eight-game winning run in Serie A this season but also their 13-game run without defeat away from home in Serie A.

Inter’s last defeat on the road in Serie A, prior to yesterday, was the loss to arch rivals Juventus in the last game of the 2019-20 season before it was put on hold due to the breakout of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The report goes on to add that the race for the Serie A title remains open and highlights the fact that Inter’s next two league games come against current third and fourth placed sides Roma and Juventus.

The Nerazzurri cannot afford to suffer another disappointing January slump if they are to keep their Scudetto hopes alive.
