Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul admits he is flattered by speculation that Antonio Conte wants to sign him for Inter in January.
De Paul has been strongly linked with a move to the Nerazzurri and while his sporting director Pierpaolo Marino has ruled out a departure this month, it has not stopped the Argentine international from discussing his pride at the rumours.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after yesterday’s 2-2 draw at Bologna, the 26-year-old said: “Conte wants me? It’s always nice to be sought after by great coaches, like Conte.”
De Paul proceeded to reaffirm his commitment to the Udinese cause and stresses that he is focused on the pitch and his agent will deal with things like the transfer market.
“I am the captain of Udinese and this club is like a family for me,” he assured supporters.
“What happens if offers arrive? I am focused on the pitch, my agent will take care of the rest.
“I take care of my responsibilities on the pitch.”
De Paul is one of a number of players to have been linked with a move to Inter with it widely understood that they are looking to bolster their midfield.
This season the former Valencia player has three goals and three assists in 17 appearances.
He has scored 28 goals and provided 28 assists since joining Udinese in 2016.
