Benevento are counting on finalising a loan deal for Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti next week, according to a report in Italy tonight.

FcInterNews.it said the newly-promoted club will sign the 21-year-old on loan with an option to buy, most likely to be fixed at €15-16 million.

Inter wanted €18 million for the option to buy while Benevento were proposing €14 million; the expectation is the clubs will meet in the middle.

The Giallorossi’s head coach Pippo Inzaghi is said to have played a decisive role in persuading Pinamonti to accept the switch, having put him at the top of his January wish list above Fiorentina’s Patrick Cutrone.

Pinamonti has made just three appearances in all competitions under Antonio Conte this season and will be the second player to leave Inter in this month’s transfer window after Radja Nainggolan rejoined Cagliari on loan last week.

His departure could open the door for Conte to recruit a more experienced back-up option to Romelu Lukaku.
