Leeds United are unlikely to sign Udinese midfielder and reported Inter target Rodrigo de Paul, according to a British media report today.

Leeds Live report that reported talks never progressed passed an initial stage after Udinese’s £30 million asking price became apparent.

No negotiations nor offers were made from the Premier League club to Udinese for the Argentine player, who the report states has also garnered interest in his services from both Inter and Juventus.

Udinese were in fact the ones to go to Leeds United with them, the player himself and his agents all at work trying to find him a new club.

The report states that a deal for De Paul to switch the Dacia Arena for Elland Road is not on the cards, with Leeds’s interest, if ever there was much, having faded a long time ago.

Moreover, Leeds United do not want to shell out another big some on a player like De Paul having already done so on Rodrigo Moreno in their first season back in the English top flight.

The report also mentions that Liverpool have entered the race to sign De Paul as well.
