Inter central midfielder Matias Vecino will not leave the club during this transfer window, according to an Italian media report today.

TuttoMercatoWeb report that Inter coach Antonio Conte needs a player of Vecino’s skills set and that the Uruguayan will be an important player in the Nerazzurri’s midfield rotations over the coming months.

There was contact between the parties yesterday and it was decided that he will not leave in January and they will continue on together given the fact Inter will be spending little in January, have already let Radja Nainggolan go and are looking to get rid of Christian Eriksen too.

The former Fiorentina midfielder has not featured for Inter at all this season due to injury but he is on the brink of a return to action.

Multiple reports in the media have stated that he is close to a full return to training and one even stated he could be in the squad for Inter’s upcoming Coppa Italia clash with Fiorentina.
