With his goal in the defeat to Sampdoria, Stefan de Vrij has scored the second most headed goals of all defenders in the past five seasons, Inter have highlighted with a post on social media platform Instagram.
The Dutch national team central defender scored Inter’s one and only goal in a 2-1 defeat away to Claudio Ranieri’s side, a result which ended their eight game winning run in Serie A.
De Vrij took his headed goals tally to six since the 2016-17 season and only his Inter team-mate Danilo D’Ambrosio has scored more headed goals as a defender, with him having scored seven.
Inter posted: “In the last five Serie A seasons (from 2016/17), only Danilo D’Ambrosio (seven) has scored more headed goals than Stefan de Vrij (six) out of all the defenders in the competition.”
