Inter style of play cannot be compared to that of city rivals AC Milan, according to legendary Nerazzurri defender Riccardo Ferri.

The Rossoneri are leading the way in Serie A after 16 games played whilst Inter are one point behind them in second place.

Both sides have got to where they are playing differently and many have praised AC Milan for how beautiful they play whilst it has been said that Inter play more ugly.

Nevertheless, Inter have still been able to get results and are very much in the race to win a first Serie A title for the first time since the 2009-10 treble-winning season.

“Inter style of play is not comparable to AC Milan,” the former Italian national team player remarked in an interview with Italian radio station Radio 24 yesterday afternoon.

“But Antonio Conte’s team always gives the impression of being able to win games.”

Ferri, who spent all barring two years of his 15 year playing career with Inter between 1981 and 1994, then went on to highlight that he thinks Inter are more physical than arch rivals Juventus, who have won the last nine Serie A titles in a row.

“They are also a more muscular team than Juventus and will rarely play football that’s easy on the eye, but in certain situations they show all of their strength.”

Antonio Conte’s side saw their eight-game winning run in the league ended on Wednesday as they lost 2-1 to Sampdoria, following first-half goals from two former players in Antonio Candreva and Keita Balde.
