Playing before AC Milan, who faced a tough test against Juventus, Inter had a golden opportunity to move 2 points clear the top of the table and apply pressure to Milan.
In a season where every point looks like it’ll matter the opportunity was valuable. But, as is all too common this season, Antonio Conte and his men blew their opportunity.
To add salt to the wound, Juventus handed Milan their first loss after a 27 match unbeaten streak which means had Inter gotten the job done, they would have been in sole possession of the top spot outright.
This could hurt as Inter’s upcoming fixtures list is tough. In the immediate future the team will go up against 3rd place AS Roma who trail Inter by just 3 points on the table. It’s tough test and one they must pass if this team has actual Scudetto aspirations.

Romelu Lukaku: The big injury question going into yesterday’s match against Sampdoria. In the 6-2 win over Crotone earlier in the week, the star man suffered an injury.
Fans naturally became worried as his presence has been vital to the team’s success this season, but through the week Conte continued to state he didn’t feel the injury was serious.
Thankfully the tests through the week proved Conte correct. He played off the bench yesterday having been brought on in an effort to get a late equalizer. He doesn’t seem to have suffered a set back and will undoubtedly be available for the match against Roma.
However, he likely will not be featured against the club’s midweek Coppa Italia match against Fiorentina with a match Juventus on the horizon
