Inter captain Samir Handanovic believes Inter have to do everything right in order to overcome Roma in today’s Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, with kick-off scheduled for 12.30 CET.
Speaking to Inter TV moments ago, the Nerazzurri number one underlined that today’s clash is between two sides that know each other very well and that it will be a very tough game.
Nonetheless, Handanovic underlined the importance of the match and assured the Nerazzurri fans that the team is ready and will do everything to bring home the 3 points against a Roma side that is only 3 points behind Inter.
“It will be a tough game, between two sides that know each other very well. We will do everything we can to win.
“Today we have to demonstrate everything: physicality, quality, courage. Everything a team needs to have to win games.
“You can’t only have one or two of these components. You have to put all these things together to be able to win.”
In conclusion, the Inter captain was asked about the importance of the string of big games coming including this one, after which the Nerazzurri will travel to Florence this coming Wednesday to play Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia, before hosting Juventus at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, next Sunday night at 20.45 CET.
“This is true, but we begin with Roma, then we think of the other matches. The fixture list is full of matches, so it is best to think about one game at a time.”
Momenta later he stopped by Italian broadcaster DAZN where he was asked about the issue of the number of goals Inter have conceded which Handanovic dismissed.
“We are also the team that has scored the most goals. We have conceded 21 goals but we have also scored the most of all teams. Then I have to try to concede less.”
