Inter and Roma drew 2-2 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome in what was an entertaining match for neutrals but frustrating for both sets of fans.

Roma took the lead via Lorenzo Pellegrini after Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez both missed a sitter in the beginning of the match.

The Giallorossi then controlled the rest of the first half as the Nerazzurri struggled to create anything worth noting. The tables were turned in the second half when Inter equalized and took the lead with two well taken goals, the second a wonder-goal by Achraf Hakimi.

However, Gianluca Mancini equalized when Antonio Conte’s awful substitutions made Inter passive and reactive as opposed to proactive giving the initiative entirely to Roma.

Samir Handanovic – 5.5: Inter’s captain is way past his sell by date. Once one of the best goalkeepers in the Serie A, now mediocre. At best.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5: Got the important equalizer to tie things up at 1-1. Good performance all-round although he was a bit caught out for Mancini’s 2-2.

Stefan De Vrij – 6.5: Did well, especially in the first half when Inter looked very shaky and unstable defensively. Back to producing solid performances.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6: Struggled a little bit which can be expected given his age, but learns from it and works his way back into games which is what matters.

Achraf Hakimi – 7: Scored another wonder-goal with his left foot despite being right-footed. Marauded down the right flank, especially in the second half.

Nicolo Barella – 6.5: Nerazzurri’s own Energizer Bunny keeps running and running until he can’t run any-more only to turn around and to just that. Leader.

Marcelo Brozovic – 8: By far the best player on the pitch. Controlled and dictated the tempo in midfield throughout as well as making it count via 2 assists.

Arturo Vidal – 4: At least 6 years past his best. Plays in slow-Mo and looks like a parody of himself when tripping over his own feet in goal-scoring positions.

Matteo Darmian – 6: Injured in the 34th minute. Before then he did what he usually does: solid hard work quietly in the background without any fuss.

Lautaro Martinez – 5.5: Brought off in the 77th minute for Ivan Perisic. His job is to score goals and instead he squandered 2 chances where it was harder to miss.

Romelu Lukaku – 6.5: Missed a sitter in the 1st half but redeemed himself by working harder and assisting Lautaro for what should have been a goal.

Ashley Young – 6.5: Substituted on for injured Darmian in the 34th minute and had one of his better games. Decent performance for the now starting player.

Ivan Perisic – 5.5: Conte’s first substitution in the 77th minute and offers absolutely nothing as he is continuously played out of position which shows.

Roberto Gagliardini – N/A: Came on in the 82nd minute for the abysmal Arturo Vidal, didn’t play long enough to be able to rated.

Aleksandar Kolarov – N/A: Replaced Achraf Hakimi in the 82nd minute, didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Antonio Conte – 4: His pathological stubbornness to play Arturo Vidal is only matched by his shocking substitutions which gifted the 3 points as usual.

Marco Di Bello – 5: Bad but not a horrific match by the worst referee in Serie A. Sure, missed at least 1 clear penalty but didn’t invent any as he usually does.

Inter – 6: Poor first half exposing all the teams deficiencies followed up by a good 20 minutes in second half ending in yet another lost lead. Standard.
