Inter have three key strengths they must use to their advantage if they are to win the Serie A title this season, a report in Italy argued today.

Corriere della Sera analysed AC Milan’s rivals for the Scudetto this morning and gave the Nerazzurri a 35% chance of being the Rossoneri’s most credible opponents, the same percentage as Juventus.

Atalanta were given a 15% of becoming the ‘anti-Milan’, with Roma awarded a 10% chance and Napoli just 5%.

Inter’s strengths were identified as being their squad depth, with a special mention for Achraf Hakimi and his six goals in 17 league games this season; their strike partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, described as the best attack in the division; and the fact they will not be involved in European competition from February onwards.

All this said, the report also identified three things which could derail Antonio Conte’s bid to bring the Scudetto back to San Siro.

One of these cons is Conte himself and his discontent with the lack of transfer funds, which does not help the club during the time of a global pandemic.

Christian Eriksen and Aleksandar Kolarov have also not performed to expectations and are said to be ‘more incomprehensible than misunderstood’.

The final problem was said to be the risk of losing the title to AC Milan instead of Juventus, which adds extra pressure onto Inter’s shoulders.
