Fiorentina have made a contract offer to Atalanta forward and Inter target Papu Gomez, according to an Italian media report today.
As per the print edition of Tuesday’s Corriere di Bergamo, the Viola are keen to sign the 32-year-old and have offered him a contract worth €4 million a year.
While Atalanta would be willing to sell Gomez to Fiorentina, the player himself is not all that interested in a move to the Stadio Artemio Franchi due to his desire to play in European competition.
Gomez is widely expected to leave Atalanta this month following a fall-out with coach Gian Piero Gasperini and he has also been linked with potential moves to both Inter and Juventus among others.
This season the former Catania player, who is under contract with Atalanta until the end of next season, has made 16 appearances across all competitions this term.
In his time on the field, Gomez, who has been frozen out completely in recent weeks, has scored five goals and provided four assists.
