Stefano Sensi is expected to make his first start for Inter in more than three months against Fiorentina tomorrow, according to a report from Sky Sport Italia tonight.
The former Sassuolo midfielder last featured in Antonio Conte’s starting XI on 30 September for the 5-2 win away to Benevento, Inter’s second game of the Serie A season.
But he will return to central midfield at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia clash, alongside Arturo Vidal and Christian Eriksen.
Conte will make eight changes from the side that drew at Roma on Sunday with Samir Handanovic, Milan Skriniar and Lautaro Martinez the only three players to keep their places.
Andrea Ranocchia and Aleksandar Kolarov will complete the Nerazzurri’s three-man defence while Alexis Sanchez replaces Romelu Lukaku in attack.
Achraf Hakimi and Matteo Darmian will be replaced in the wing-back positions by Ashley Young and Ivan Perisic.
Inter’s expected starting XI vs Fiorentina (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, Ranocchia, Kolarov; Young, Vidal, Eriksen, Sensi, Perisic; Lautaro, Sanchez.
