Inter could potentially make a last-minute attempt to sign Atalanta outcast Papu Gomez in January on a loan basis, according to an Italian media report today.

TuttoMercatoWeb report that based on how the transfer window develops, the idea of loaning in Gomez for the remainder of the 2020-21 season could take shape.

The Argentine, who is widely expected to leave Atalanta after a breakdown in relations with coach Gian Piero Gasperini, is a player who both Inter management and coach Antonio Conte like.

Inter are attentive to developments in Gomez’s situation and are remaining vigilant alongside other club such as AC Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina among others.

The 32-year-old attacker, who has been with his current employers since September 2014, has made 16 appearances across all competitions to date this season, with him having scored five goals and tallied four assists.

He has not been in their squad whatsoever for the last five games and last played versus Juventus in the middle of December.
