Inter loanee Dalbert could see his loan spell with Ligue 1 side Rennes ended prematurely in January, according to a report in France.

As per Ouest-France, Rennes are considering terminating the Brazilian’s season-long loan ahead of schedule, although their lack of alternatives in the full-back position means it remains an improbable scenario.

Even if Dalbert remained in France until the end of the season, FCInter1908.it have noted that Rennes, who paid €2 million to take the former Nice man on loan, are highly unlikely to fork out a further €12.5 million to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer.

His disappointing performances, coupled with a perceived poor attitude, have seen him relegated to the substitutes’ bench in favour of 19-year-old Adrien Truffert.

During his loan stint with the French club, Dalbert, who joined Inter back in 2017 in a circa €20 million deal from Nice, has made a total of nine appearances.

The 27-year-old has provided no goal contributions and has been an unused substitute in each of Rennes’ last two matches.
