Aleksandar Kolarov’s below-par performance in Inter’s Coppa Italia win against Fiorentina was criticised by a report in the Italian media today.

The Serbian defender was given a rare opportunity to play in Florence but left a lot to be desired with his performance, which included an involuntary assist for Christian Kouame to score the Viola’s second-half equaliser.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition this morning handed the 35-year-old a rating of 5/10 for his display at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, the lowest afforded to any Inter player along with Lautaro Martinez.

Lautaro was accused of lacking ideas during the match and missing a glorious chance to double Inter’s lead early in the second half, while they wrote about Kolarov: “He never seemed too secure.”

At the opposite end of the ratings scale sit Achraf Hakimi, Nicolo Barella and match-winner Romelu Lukaku, all of whom have been given ratings of 7/10.

Andrea Ranocchia, Ashley Young, Ivan Perisic and head coach Antonio Conte all got 6.5 whilst Samir Handanovic, Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, Arturo Vidal, Marcelo Brozovic and Alexis Sanchez got 6/10.

Christian Eriksen and Roberto Gagliardini both got 5.5/10, with CdS unconvinced by the Danish international’s debut appearance in the deep-lying play-maker position.

Inter face city rivals AC Milan in the quarter-finals, with reports today suggesting the match will take place on Tuesday January 26.
