Arturo Vidal is expected to start for Inter when the Nerazzurri face his former club Juventus in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia, a leading Italian broadcaster reported tonight.

The Chilean international scored his first goal for Antonio Conte’s side from the penalty spot during Wednesday’s Coppa Italia victory against Fiorentina, and according to Sky Sport Italia he will keep his place in the starting XI for the big match at San Siro.

Elsewhere in midfield, Marcelo Brozovic will replace Christian Eriksen as one of several players returning to the starting line-up following the match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, with Nicolo Barella also coming back into the centre of the side.

Conte is expected to make seven changes in total with Achraf Hakimi, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni and Romelu Lukaku coming back in.

Eriksen was again tried in the deep-lying play-maker position during training today, but Conte will not be pursuing his experiment with the Danish international against Andrea Pirlo’s side.

Inter’s probable starting XI (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Hakimi, Barella, Brozovic, Vidal, Young; Lukaku, Lautaro.
