Roma are set to meet with Atalanta tomorow to discuss a deal for rumoured Inter target Papu Gomez, according to an Italian media report today.

CalcioMercato.com explain that the Giallorossi’s new sporting director Tiago Pinto will meet with the Bergamaschi tomorrow to understand the conditions of a transfer for the 32-year-old Argentine.

Roma have an interest in signing Gomez in a bid to boost their chances of Serie A title glory this season, and Atalanta currently value their club captain at €15 million.

Inter are also interested in signing Gomez but the report goes on to add that the corporate issues at the club have meant that everything is now on standby, with no funds available for the January transfer window.

Gomez has been frozen out at Atalanta in recent weeks following a fall-out with coach Gian Piero Gasperini and is widely expected to leave the club this month.

The former Catania forward has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season, in which he has scored five goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
