Atalanta are ready to cash in on unsettled captain Papu Gomez, but are unwilling to sell the Argentine to Inter.

Gomez has fallen out of favour at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia after a dispute with coach Gian Piero Gasperini, leading to a host of Serie A clubs vying to sign him.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Atalanta have set an asking price of €10 million for Gomez and are prepared to offload the 32-year-old this month.

However, La Dea are determined to avoid strengthening a direct rival for European qualification and so are ready to rule out any deal with Inter.

Instead, Atalanta will look to generate interest from abroad, despite few offers from clubs outside of Serie A for Gomez so far.

Their stance is complicated by the former Metalist midfielder’s reluctance to leave Italy and he is set to turn down any foreign approaches.

Gomez has scored 59 goals in 252 appearances for Atalanta and captained the club in their maiden Champions League campaign in 2019-20.
