Inter must take an attacking approach if they are to enjoy success in the Derby d’Italia against Juventus, according to journalist Sandro Piccinini.
The Nerazzurri take on Juventus at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Serie A on Sunday evening as they look to close the gap at the top of the table to AC Milan.
Coming into the fixture off the back of conceding a late goal to draw against Roma last time out in Serie A, Inter are looking for a first league win in three matches when they welcome the Bianconeri.
Piccinini insisted that Inter’s best football came as they looked to attack opponents and it was an approach that coach Antonio Conte ought to adapt against his former club.
“Inter started to click into gear at first when they abandoned the idea of using an attacking midfielder and instead focused on using wing-backs in a 3-5-2 formation,” Piccinini declared on Sky Sport Italia earlier today.
“Now their best performances come when they must attack the opponent, such as against Roma. Inter cannot wait to fall behind before reacting this time, so Conte must decide if he is willing to take risks.”
Victory for Inter would see them move seven points clear of Juventus in the Serie A table, although the Bianconeri would retain a game in hand.
