Inter Directors Meet Squad To Negotiate Unpaid Salaries, Italian Media Suggest

Inter’s board of directors met on Friday to look to resolve a growing issue of unpaid salaries, as they sought to reassure the playing squad that payments would be made.

Reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Repubblica, the Nerazzurri took action to defer wages from July and August last year to resolve cash flow issues as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and postponement of the Serie A season.

With trade union agreements requiring them to pay those outstanding wages by February 16, the board of directors at the club moved to quell any concern amongst the playing and coaching staff that this deadline would not be met.

Directors Alessandro Antonello and Beppe Marotta held a meeting, the third of it’s kind this season, before training on Friday to introduce the possibility of a new agreement over the second deferral of wages.

This would affect salaries in November and December and see the repayment of them delayed until June.
