Out-of-favour Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen could be in line for a return to former club Tottenham Hotspur.

The Danish midfielder joined Inter from Spurs in January 2020 but has failed to make an impact at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, prompting suggestions that the Nerazzurri will look to cash in on him.

Speaking on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia today, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed that Tottenham are interested in taking Eriksen back to the Premier League and would be willing to sanction an initial loan with a obligation to buy at the end of the season.

Inter are determined not to let Eriksen leave for free but would be open to a paid loan with a future obligation inserted, whilst interest has also been generated in the former Ajax midfielder from elsewhere recently.

“Something is happening in England at the moment and his [Eriksen’s] agent is in discussions with various clubs to build interest,” Di Marzio declared.

“This hasn’t resulted in any formal offers yet, but Tottenham would be keen to bring him back on loan, even if they are required to complete a purchase later on.”

Eriksen has made 40 appearances for Inter since his switch to Serie A, but so far has only found the net four times.
