Italy Coach Roberto Mancini: “I Wish Inter Midfielder Stefano Sensi A More Generous 2021”

Italy boss Roberto Mancini hopes Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi will have a far more injury-free year in 2021 than he did in 2020.

Sensi joined the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2019 and made a great start to life in an Inter shirt, but in October of that season he picked up an injury against Juventus and life suddenly became very tough.

The former Sassuolo player’s injuries woes have even continued into this season, with Sensi having been limited to just nine appearances in all competition, only one of which has been a start.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Mancini, who has had two spells in charge of Inter, admitted that he hopes 2021 is a better year for the 25-year-old.

“I hoped he’d paid his dues with bad luck in 2020, instead I wish him a more generous 2021,” he told the Milanese paper.

“For us he is precious, because he can play in many positions.”

Mancini also touched upon Inter owned Federico Dimarco, who is currently impressing whilst out on loan at fellow Serie A side Hellas Verona.

“I know him well, he’s got a great left foot, he’s strong, he plays with confidence.

“He’s a young player and after Euro 2020 he could come into the fold.”
