Potential new Inter owners BC Partners are not only attracted by the football side of things.

The British overseas investment fund is in talks over a possible takeover as Suning Group look to sell all or part of their stake in the Nerazzurri.

An exclusivity agreement has been granted until the end of February as BC do their due diligence and Milano Finanza explains it’s not just a football investment that’s being considered.

The group is also interested in taking advantage of the proposed new San Siro, as well as merchandising opportunities outside of Italy.

In addition there’s expected to be a boost in television revenue after the establishment of the Lega Serie A media company.

Finally, BC Partners are poised to take advantage of proposed reforms to European football after 2024.

A form of European Super League has been mooted and as one of the biggest clubs on the continent it’s likely Inter would be involved.

According to the report BC could come in with an initial minority stake but are unlikely to want Suning controlling the club long-term as they have to obey the commands of the Chinese government.

The British company could therefore look to acquire control over time.
