Andrea Pinamonti will not leave Inter in the January transfer window, according to one Italian media report today.

The Italy under-21 striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Nerazzurri after struggling for game time and has been subject to plenty of interest, most notably from Benevento and Crotone.

Tuttosport’s print edition, however, has reported that Pinamonti will be staying at Inter because the club have realised it will be impossible for them to invest into the signing of a new fourth-choice striker.

Antonio Conte is thought to want a more experienced back-up option for Romelu Lukaku, with the likes of Eder, Graziano Pelle, Gervinho and Divock Origi all linked so far this month, but it appears none of them will be arriving.

Pinamonti, who is under contract with the club until 2024, has been limited to just three appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has failed to make any goal contributions.

He was again an unused substitute last night as Inter defeated arch rivals Juventus 2-0 in the Derby d’Italia at San Siro.
